The Evermere approach
How we work together.
Contract work starts with what you need the agreement to accomplish. The scope follows from there.
From the first discussion to the next decision.
Define the work.
Start with the agreement, your business objective, and any timing constraints. The scope and fees are discussed before a written engagement is confirmed.
Review the terms.
Within the agreed scope, Lillian reviews or develops the language, explains the provisions that deserve attention, and considers proposed changes in light of your priorities.
Decide what comes next.
Discuss the risks and tradeoffs with Lillian. Where negotiation is part of the engagement, the work may include redlines, responses, and discussions with the other party.
An illustrative example
A renewal clause is also a planning decision.
A hypothetical discussion, not legal advice or a client result.
The terms
Imagine a software subscription that renews for another year unless notice is given by September 30.
The business question
Your team is evaluating a replacement in October. Would the renewal commit you before that decision is ready?
The discussion
Counsel can examine the notice language, the renewal term, and the transition plans together. The conversation might cover a different notice deadline or a shorter renewal period, depending on the agreement and negotiating position.
Get in touch
Let’s talk about your contract.
Tell us a little about your matter. Lillian will be in touch to arrange a consultation.
